1456 7 July Jehanne d'Arc is declared innocent by the Inquisition. Jean Bréhal, the chief inquisitor, declared that the original trial was tainted by fraud, illegal procedures and intimidation of both Jehanne herself and many of the clergy who participated in the trial. She is described as a martyr.
